Born in 1986, the young American artist Alexa Meade is known as an installation artist based in the Washington, DC. Meade graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She never attended art school and she has not taken any advanced painting course. However, with the fascination with how the sun casts moving shadows, Meade has come up with the idea for her work. She began to try painting shadows onto moving people. After a short period of time, she can make a process for painting on people. Alexa Meade has an extremely different thought from others. While most artists use acrylic paints to make portraits of people on canvas, Meade thinks completely backwards. She paints portraits directly on the subjects and makes them become a part of the painting.
