CBS Films have just pushed the release date for upcoming fantasy romance movie “Beastly”. Originally, the film was planned to hit the theater on July 30, 2010; then, the film was slated to March 18, 2011 and now to March 4, 2011. The new release date will bring the film into a competition on the box office with “Take Me Home Tonight” and “The Adjustment Bureau”.
The intriguing “Beastly”, which stars Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen, is based on the supernatural romance 2007 novel of Alex Flinn and retells the famous fairytale “Beauty and the Beast”. The setting of the film is placed on modern-day in New York City. According to Vanessa Hudgens, “Beastly” takes the skeleton of “Beauty and the Beast”.
“High School Musical” actress stars opposite to British actor Alex Pettyfer.
The romance in “Beastly” tells about how to see the true inner beauty inside a false face.
Vanessa Hudgens talked about director Daniel Barnz, “I’m in love with Daniel. I think he’s such an incredible director.”
In the film, Kyle Kingson (played by Alex Pettyfer) is the handsome, intelligent and wealthy guy with evil streak who always disrespects his classmates. He later receives a spell cast by the eccentric girl Kendra Hilferty (played by Mary-Kate Olsen) and turns into horrible unrecognizable appearance. The only solution for Kyle Kingson is to find anyone who will be in love with him – an impossible task. Linda Taylor (played by Vanessa Hudgens) is forced to consent to live in Kyle’s Brooklyn home in exchange for her father’s freedom and safety after Kyle threatens to kill a dealer. It is the beginning of Kyle’s discovering true love.
The actress also reveals her terrifying feeling while filming the movie, “They rigged me and I was literally hanging upside down on a pole, and then they would let the latch go, and they’d count ‘3,2,1\' and then I’d let go and fall into Alex’s arms”.
On talking about her character Lindy Owens, the 22-year-old actress said, “Our version is very posh and sleek and very sophisticated. It’s supposed to be in an extremely wealthy school, so Lindy definitely stands out from everyone else.”
The setting of the film is placed in modern-life in NewYork City with romantic scenes.
